Socialists
Jacob Coxey was a Socialist Reformer during the Industrial revolution who fought for the rights and redistribution of wealth in America, for the working class and labor unions, as a part of his socialist ideals. He led a group of socialist workers nicknamed Coxey's Army on a a march on Washington D.C. to protest that the government needed to use money in making jobs for unemployed working age people. He ran for office multiple times in Ohio, yet failed to gain enough support. (Why Socialism Failed)

Eugene V Debs was a union leader of the Industrial Workers of the World, a group which fought during the revolution to put his socialist ideals, which he had learned in prison, into place. He used the capitalist businessmen as signs of the corruption of capitalism and to justify the need for socialism in America. Debs ran for presidential office multiple times, but because of the national fear of communism and socialism, never picked up much of the vote. He was arrested in 1918 for "espionage" and died soon after (Introduction of Socialism in America.)
